Each year, the Front Royal Rotary Club collects and purchases everyday groceries for families in need in Front Royal & Warren County. Our goal is to feed 180 families with over $100 in value worth of groceries, and we've managed every year! Our "Baskets" have grown from one large basket to 4 large reusable bags of shelf-stable groceries, fresh produce, meats and cheese, and even loaves of bread! Thanks to our amazing community who are always willing to jump in and help, we have continued this tradition since it was gifted to us in 2003. "Doc" Smith Christmas Baskets began in 1916 by the then Chief of Police, Edgar C. Smith, who was known as "Doc", and the tradition continued with Psi Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority from 1973-2003, serving over 100 families each year. This project is truly the crown jewel of our Rotary Club's service, and it's an honor to be a part of it's legacy.
