The Rotary Club of Front Royal distributed 128 boxes of food to needy families through its Doc Smith Christmas Basket Program. On Friday, December 20, 2019 volunteers from the Rotary Club helped pack up donated food items into gift boxes that were either picked up or delivered on Saturday, December 21, 2019.

Rotary Club of Front Royal to Partner Again with the Warren County Department of Social Services to Provide Coats to Needy Children in the Community

Front Royal – The Rotary Club of Front Royal announced this week that it is partnering with the Warren County Department of Social Services again in 2019 to purchase coats for kids through Operation Warm. Last year, as part of the Club’s annual Doc Smith Christmas Basket Program, which provided 120 boxes of food to needy families in the Front Royal-Warren County community, the Club gave out 87 coats to children in need identified by the Department of Social Services.

Rotary Club of Front Royal Awards Annual Community Grant to Two Local Organizations

Front Royal – The Rotary Club of Front Royal awarded its annual community grant this year to two local organizations.  This year the $8,500 grants were awarded to the Skyline High School and Warren County High School marching bands in the amount of $4,250 each to benefit their programs for the purchase of new uniforms.

Rotary Club of Front Royal Presents 11th Robert E. L. “Bob” Miller Community Service Award

The Front Royal Rotary Club presented the 11th Annual Robert E. L. “Bob” Miller Community Service Award at its meeting on August 30, 2019 to Frederick S. “Fred” Andreae.  Fred has been a resident of Front Royal, Virginia for over forty years and has been an active public servant in the community, serving on numerous boards and commissions, as well as an active conservationist, preservationist, and philanthropist.

Rotary Club of Front Royal Recognizes Bailey Irvin Grant as Male Student-Athlete of the Year and Rachel Elizabeth Sirbaugh and Kaley Elisabeth Foulks as Female Student-Athletes of the Year

Front Royal – The Rotary Club of Front Royal is proud to present the sixth class of honorees for its Student-Athlete of the Year Awards.  Bailey Irvin Grant was awarded the 2019 John K. Marlow Student-Athlete Award, and Rachel Elizabeth Sirbaugh and Kaley Elisabeth Foulks were awarded the 2019 Heidi Noel Moore Student-Athlete Award. In 2013, the Rotary Club of Front Royal created the Student-Athlete of the Year Awards.  The award and its criteria were adopted by the Board of Directors of the Club to recognize the top individual male athlete and female athlete from Warren County High School and Skyline High School.  Click here for full press-release  



Rotary Club of Front Royal Honors 2019 Warren County Teachers of the Year

Front Royal – At the May 17th meeting of the Rotary Club of Front Royal, ten Warren County teachers were awarded “The Rotarian Award for Excellence in Educating Youth”. The awards were presented by Melody Sheppard, Chairman of the Club’s Career Information and Educational Excellence Committee, and Kym Crump, President Front Royal Rotary.  Criteria for selection of the teachers included setting high expectations for student achievement and supporting students in positive and esteem-building ways.

Rotary Club of Front Royal and the Warren County Department of Social Services Provide 143 Coats to Needy Children in the Community During the Holiday Season

Front Royal – The Rotary Club of Front Royal and the Warren County Department of Social Services provided 143 coats for kids through Operation Warm.
According to Club President Kym, “This year I was very pleased that we were able to again add coats to the donation to ensure that every child served by the program that needed one received a new coat this Christmas. We want to thank everyone that donated to this communitywide effort.”

Front Royal – The Rotary Club of Front Royal announced this week that it is partnering with the Warren County Department of Social Services again in 2018 to purchase coats for kids through Operation Warm.  Last year, as part of the Club’s annual Doc Smith Christmas Basket Program, which provided 145 boxes of food to needy families in the Front Royal-Warren County community, the Club gave out 134 coats to children in need identified by the Department of Social Services.

Rotary Club of Front Royal Contributes $126,370 In FY2017-2018

Front Royal – At its meeting on Friday, September 7th, the Rotary Club of Front Royal celebrated a history of giving back to the Front Royal-Warren County community.  Past President Doug Stanley (2007-2008) presented a history of the Club’s efforts in building community and, in the words of current Rotary International President Barry Rassin, Being the Inspiration.

Stanley noted, “As members of this Club, you have seen firsthand the financial support that this Club provides this community.  Each year as Club members we roll up our sleeves each July and go out and raise a bunch of money, only to give it all away at the end of the year and start over for the next year.  There are a myriad of organizations, large and small that our Club supports each year.”
